What we do
Most joinery firms pick a lane. Some only fit new units and won't touch a repair; others repair aluminium but stop at timber, or hand the interior doors to a builder and the glass to a cleaner. Graham has worked in windows and doors since his carpentry and joinery apprenticeship, which is why the whole range below sits with one person. It means a job doesn't stall halfway through because the frame turned out to be a different material, or because the lock that needs fitting isn't strictly joinery work. Send a photo of whatever's wrong and you'll get an honest answer on what it needs — including when the answer is that it doesn't need much.
Handles, stays, hinges, restrictors, rubber and backing seals, alignment and rotten boxing — on aluminium or timber, any brand. Obsolete parts get matched rather than written off.
Window repairsSticking and dropping doors, hinges, handles and locks, door seals, ranch slider wheels and carriages, bi-fold runners and security handles. Digital locks supplied and fitted.
Door repairsFull replacement joinery ordered through an APL manufacturer — the systems behind Altherm, First and Vantage — measured, supplied and installed by the same person who services it afterwards.
New windows and doorsCavity sliders that jump the track or won't run, internal doors that catch, wardrobe and bedroom doors supplied and hung, plus hardware and closers.
Interior doorsInside and out, frames and tracks as well as the glass, up to two storeys with our own gear. Anything failing gets pointed out while we're there rather than after it leaks.
Cleaning serviceSecurity stays, restrictors, sash and window locks, deadlocks, security bolts and digital locks — fitted into frames that are sound, or made sound first.

The process is the same for a snapped stay and for a full run of replacement joinery. You don't need to know what the part is called or which service you're booking — describe the problem, send a picture, and we'll work out which of the above it is. Around 95% of faults are identifiable from a clear photo, which means most people get a price without anyone having to visit first.

Servicing
Joinery is one of the few parts of a house nobody looks at until it stops working, and by then a $40 seal has usually become a rotten jamb. A servicing check is a scheduled run around every window and door on the property — moving parts adjusted and lubricated, seals and drainage checked, fixings tightened, and a written note of anything that will need attention in the next year or two. It suits coastal properties where salt air is hard on hardware, rentals and holiday houses where nobody is there to notice a problem starting, and anyone who has just had new joinery fitted and wants it to last the distance. Both, for repairs and for new installations. It's the main reason a job never has to be split between two trades — the material the frame turns out to be doesn't change who finishes the work.
Small jobs are most of the work. A single stay, one handle, a seal that has popped out of its channel — all normal. If several things need doing it's worth mentioning them together so they get sorted in one visit.
Yes, and it usually works out better. A clean is a sensible time to have the seals and tracks checked, and security hardware is best fitted while any underlying joinery repairs are being done rather than afterwards.
